Traditional braces might be a great option for straightening and aligning your child’s teeth. Braces have been around for a long time. They are proven and effective, strong and durable. They’ve had advancements and improvements over the years.

You can switch colors often during treatment. Rubber bands were formerly necessary on braces, but advanced braces design has changed this. Metal braces can be somewhat difficult to clean. You can’t remove them for cleaning or eating. Traditional braces can also require a mouth guard, especially when playing sports. Caring For Your New Braces

You can use specialized brushes and flosses, which will help you with hard-to-reach areas during cleaning.

Watch What You Eat
Try not to eat hard or sticky foods. Caramel, taffy, nuts, hard candies, chewing ice, or meats on bones are things to avoid—cut food into small, easily-chewable pieces. When possible, eat soft foods that are less likely to make your braces come loose. Yogurts, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and eggs are great examples.
